The cabane à sucre report--March 31st, 2009
Have a close look at the lovely group picture. Do you see all the smiling faces? Do you see colleagues whom you miss since your flying days? Do join us for our next get togethers:
the Corn Roast, the Golf Day, our Christmas luncheon and our monthly lunches at the 12 Bar/Grill in Lachine.
It was a little chilly outside, so for the first time, the group picture was taken inside.
Even the “ tire” (taffy) was served inside; that’s a first for me too.
As you can imagine, all the traditional foods that are served served at the cabane covered the tables. For once, the diet-conscious let go of their calorie count. Ah the desserts! Sugar pies, crêpes, donuts, all syrupy, sweet, and delicious topped the food extravaganza.
As custom would have it, we drew the names of 12 happy recipients who chose goodies bought right at the cabane. As you know, we hold a draw at all our events; just for showing up, you too can win.
The Ethiers and their staff took care of us in their friendly down to earth way, and they were applauded warmly for their efforts. All in all it was another wonderful day; and what a great way to start spring, and welcome the milder weather! Enjoy the coming months and we do hope to see you all soon.
